Guided Caviar Tasting

This guided tasting includes the fascinating history of caviar and its origins, dating back to the fourth century through time, to the state of the caviar market in 2020.

Simon Johnson’s caviar expert will guide you through a tasting of three types of caviar, harvested from different species of sturgeon and sustainably sourced from the world’s most famous producers. You will be shown how to taste caviar in the most authentic way, as the experts do, warmed to body temperature and consumed from the top of the hand.

The class is hosted at Simon Johnson Providore where guests can see the caviar repacking lab as well as maturation fridge for better understanding of the caviar world. This truly unforgettable experience will reveal the subtle differences of each style of caviar and then give you an understanding of how to select the best product.
