Cire Trudon
In 1643 a salesman named Claude Trudon arrived in Paris and became the owner of a store in Rue Saint-Honoré, he was a grocer but also a wax merchant and supplied his customers with candles for lighting their homes and for the parish. Trudon grew and began supplying the French court and the most important churches. The Trudon company supplied Versailles until the very end of the monarchy. Trudon continued its work throughout the centuries, without ever interrupting its activity, particularly through the making of traditional candles and perfumed candles for the greatest names. It is now the oldest and most prestigious wax manufacturer in the world.
In 2006 Cire Trudon lit up the queen Marie-Antoinette once again, supplying candles for shooting Coppola’s film in Versailles.
The Wax used in the candles are 100% paraffin-free and devoid of any secondary minerals derived from petrolchemicals. Using a secret recipe of vegetal oils with wicks of pure cotton. The Glass – Cire Trudon travelled to Vinci in Italy to have master craftsmen create its hand-blown candle glass. Its deep colour and its smart irregular profile varies for each glass, no two glasses are identical. The Label – Sporting embossed golden letters, the gold label adorning our candles is produced exclusively for Cire Trudon by the oldest champagne label maker in France.

Diptique
The diptyque story began in Paris at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain with, at its heart, three friends driven by the same creative passion. Christiane Gautrot was an interior designer, Desmond Knox-Leet, a painter, and Yves Coueslant, a theater director and set designer. The first two collaborated designing fabrics and wallpaper for Liberty and Sanderson. They were joined by the third in 1961 and opened a shop to display their designs. Yves became the administrator and consultant; Desmond and Christiane were the artistic soul. Bit by bit, with finely honed taste, the trio transformed the site into a one-of-a-kind setting, a kind of stylish bazaar where one found surprising articles unmatched in Paris, mined and conveyed home by the trio over the course of their travels. In 1961, the three friends decided to open a store in Paris, on 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, where they displayed and sold their own plain and print soft furnishings. They also gave their customers the opportunity to discover the biggest names in traditional English perfumes, then little known in France. Soon they started creating their own fragrances which are so famous today including their highly cherished candles.
